Instructions Inside

Two time World Champion Damian King has just released his personal instructional bodyboarding DVD.  Damian covers everything from paddling and ocean safety all the way through to advanced moves and competition strategies. Kingy’s advice comes from two world titles and over 20 years riding experience and uses the best footage from the past 10 years of his The Joker archive to best illustrate each tip discussed.

The DVD also contains a beginner and advanced stretching routine, which is tailored for bodyboarding, to help prevent injury from the impact certain moves have on your body. “ I have been working on the DVD for a while now, I didn’t want to just slap something together”, King said. “ Now that it’s finished, I am stoked with the final product. It starts off with the very basics of bodyboarding and then progresses into the more technical aspects of the sport. I truly believe there are tips in the DVD for anyone who wants to fast track their riding and learn the correct techniques so they can best utilise the waves they catch”.

The 50 minute Damian King Instructional DVD is available in stores now for just $29.95. Plus, a free copy will be included with every 2011 Turbo Damian King Signature Model purchase!

You can check out the teaser here.

Lachie Is A Champ

Sunshine Coast Bodyboarder and Unite Flow Team rider Lachlan Cramsie is the talk of the bodyboarding community after winning his second Australian Title at the 2010 National Titles on the Gold Coast over the weekend. The final was one of the closest of the day, Lachie out surfed Lewy Finnegan to take out the Juniors Division and once again be crowned National Champion at an awards ceremony last night.

He qualified for the National Titles after recent success at the Queensland Titles, winning the Juniors Division and becoming State Champion. Lachie is also unbeaten in the local Sunshine Coast Bodyboarding Club events for 2010.

Lachlan’s bodyboarding career has taken off this year picking up sponsorship from Found Boards, Unite, Reeflex Wetsuits and Dragon. He was also chosen to participate in November’s SEP Camp, a coaching and mentoring program run by the IBA for those recognised as future champions of the sport, at Surfing Australia’s High Performance Centre. At the camp Lachie was named Most Promising 2010 and IBA International General Manager Terry McKenna said, “Lachie is the best talent I have seen in a quite a few years”.

During the six day event at Duranbah, Lachie, 16, also took part in the Rebel Sport Pro which saw him competing against top professional riders. Lachie impressed everyone after knocking out top seeds early and progressed all the way through to Round 4.

Lachlan is also sponsored by bodyboard store, Inverted Bodyboarding, and store owner Ben Wells is “overwhelmed with the result, he exceeded all expectations and shone through amongst the nations best”. Ben also went on to say “a lot of good riders have come out of the Sunshine Coast and I have no doubt Lachie will be the next big thing following in the footsteps of riders such as Michael Novy and Jake Stone”.

Winston McCall +1

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHm0kcdHk1I&hd=1

Here’s a cool interview with Parkway Drive’s Winston McCall from PLUSONE Episode 01 brought to you by Robot Army Digital Media. After a nervous and often awkward start in the bands early days, he’s got this PR shit down now. Definitely worth a watch.

Rock your Corporate Pullover Hood (if you can find one, those things sold out quick) and be like Winston!
